Undergraduate Degree Requirements for Alberta Applicants
General Requirements
Undergraduate degree program applicants from Alberta must present the following:
- High School Diploma
- 5 academic courses numbered 30 or 31 including the required courses for your chosen degree, as outlined below

Things to remember:
- Estimated cutoff ranges are based on admission averages from previous years and are provided as a point of reference. Exact cut-offs are determined by the quantity and quality of applications received and the space available in the program. Having an average within this range does not guarantee admission.
- Co-op averages will often exceed the estimated cut-off ranges. Students not admissible to co-op will be automatically considered for the regular program.
- Majors with a single asterisk * indicates that the program is offered with and without co-op.

Notes
- Completion of Math 30-1 is highly recommended for Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics; this major requires knowledge in math. A grade academic level math course is recommended for students pursuing other social science majors.

- Previous experience in the turfgrass industry is considered an asset.

Notes:
- Courses not found on the approved courses list may be considered on an individual basis.
- Career & Technology Studies (CTS) subjects are not acceptable for admission. Locally Developed 35-level academic courses are usually accepted. Please send course outlines to national@uoguelph.ca for confirmation.
- Courses must be 5 credits each. Two 3 credit courses can be used to equal one 5 credit course.
- AP and IB courses are acceptable, in addition to French immersion equivalents of the courses listed above.
- In instances where provincial exams are written, the better of the two grades (in-class vs. final blended grade) is used to determine your admission average.
