3 leakproof sterile containers.Collection Protocol
Collect feces into leakproof sterile containers. Feces needs to be split into 3 separate vials for distribution to the 3 lab sections involved. If done at AHL, an extra splitting charge will be added. Keep feces, refrigerated, do not freeze as this will significantly reduce the sensitivity of the sucrose wet mount. Alternatively, the Cryptosporidium species PCR (test code: crypto) may be run on previously frozen feces for an increased fee. If pooling is requested, individual tests will be ordered. Only the virology PCR test will be pooled. Pooling is not recommended for bacteriology or parasitology.Additional Information
