OMAFRA's Research and Innovation Branch (@ONAgFoodRuralRI) facilitated a live Twitter Q/A session with Dr. Jess Haines, from the department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition at Guelph University. The Q/A session provided an opportunity to engage with Jess on her research project, which explores methods to effectively educate families on healthy eating and how it can reduce risk of obesity among preschool children.

The Knowledge Mobilization Summer Institute included three days of learning and skill development in the field of knowledge mobilization (KMb).  Hands-on workshops and networking with professionals provided a unique opportunity for early career  KMb individuals to develop a solid foundation of understanding of the key principles of KMb, collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and evaluation. This event provided participants with the opportunity to learn about rural/regional economic development research and network with other researchers.   The Rural Development Research theme addresses topics of the rural/urban interface, rural economic development, rural infrastructure, community capacity, labour market, promotion of innovation, and rural quality of life and challenges. This event provided the opportunity to learn about production systems - plants research, get engaged on timely topics with researchers, government, and industry, network, and learn from graduate research posters.  The Production Systems - Plants research theme is funded under the OMAFRA-University of Guelph Partnership and primarily addresses production research and profitable agriculture.
