Workshop: Nietzsche and Virtue

Friedrich Nietzsche raised potent challenges to traditional views about morality. Many of these challenges took aim at traditional virtues such as justice and charity. Is human happiness compatible with a virtuous life, or does the bad conscience and guilt that accompany morality bring us misery that outweighs its benefits? Nietzsche invites us to reassess our idea of the good human life from a perspective that does not take for granted that virtue is its own reward.

Grad School SSHRC & OGS Funding Info Session

The SSHRC and OGS Info Session will be held by the Department of History on Thursday, October 10 from 12pm to 2pm in MACK 132. The event is open to all MA and PhD students in the Department of History as well as all upper-year history undergraduate students who are considering applying to graduate school this year.
