COA Strategy: Focus Group Session II

To students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the College of Arts: You’re invited to join us at an open meeting where we begin our strategic planning process. Bring your voices, your vision, and your ideas. This meeting will be an open, dynamic opportunity to explore what you value about the College of Arts now and your hopes and aspirations for how it could become an even more collaborative, creative community. This will be the first “idea generation” phase of a two part strategy process. All welcome!

Book Symposium: Defending Biodiversity

International Society for Environmental Ethics, in affiliation with the American Philosophical Association, will hold a book symposium on J.Newman, G Varner and S. Linquist's,(2017) book: Defending Biodiversity: Environmental Science and Ethics. Commentators: Jay Odenbaugh (Lewis & Clark College), Roberta Millstein (UC Davis), Jennifer Welchman (University of Alberta).

Book Launch for "Whatever Gets You Through: Twelve Survivors on Life after Sexual Assault"

Join philosophy professor Karyn Freedman, a contributor to the collection, in the launch of the edited collection "Whatever Gets You Through: Twelve Survivors on Life after Sexual Assault." The book is edited by Stacey May Fowles and Jen Sookfong Lee and award-winning author Rachel Giese will guide the night's discussion. The event is free but registration is required to attend. Putting It on Paper: From CV to Resume: PhD Career Workshop

When it comes to exploring the wider labour market, how can one translate their academic experience for a non-academic audience? This workshop complements the April 4th event by focusing on the creation of job marketing materials such as cover letters and turning CVs into resumes. This workshop will also discuss how to analyze and apply for job postings. Attendees are encouraged to bring their CVs.
