Art History Speaker Series Presents: Dr. Marija Cetinic
Concretion: The Aesthetics of Saturation
Marija Cetinic is Sessional Assistant Professor of English at York University. She recently completed a SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta. Signs of Autumn: The Aesthetics of Saturation, her current project, focuses on the concept of saturation, and on developing its implications for the relation of contemporary art and aesthetics to political economy. The project is an effort to articulate a form of contemporary experience and its aesthetic figurations: not an experience of disjunction or difference, but of subsumption and density. Her doctoral work, on sadness in contemporary literature, was completed at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
