On February 6, 2025, Adam Riddell, a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Guelph, presented at the Canadian Organic Invitational Virtual Seminar (CORGI-Virtual Seminar).

The CORGI-Virtual Seminar is a community-building effort hosted by the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC). Speakers are invited to present their research to a national audience of organic chemistry researchers from industry, academia, and alternative career paths.

Riddell’s seminar, titled “The Nature and Chemical Utility of Proximal Boron Functionalities on the S-Alkylation of Sulfenic Acid Anions,” showcased a variety of projects from his doctoral research in Professor Adrian Schwan’s lab. His presentation was well received by the community, and further questions about his work can be directed to Adam at riddella@uoguelph.ca.
