OA Hackathon: Hack It Open

As the availability of open data through the Internet becomes more common, students are being asked to solve new and varied problems. Drop by Scholars Studio (2nd floor, Library) for a fun and relaxed day of creative problem solving and community. Can’t stay for the whole event? No problem! Feel free to come and go as you please.  There will be three datasets on hand to choose from catering to historical and contemporary areas of interest. Participants will work in groups to answer a question. A prize will be awarded to the team with the best answer.

Partnerships for Employment Job Fair 2018

The 2017 Partnerships for Employment (P4E) Career Fair will take place at RIM Park in Waterloo on September 26th. Free bus transportation leaves the University Centre every 30 mins, starting at 9:30 a.m. Buses will pick up at the doors by the bus loop. This is the largest career fair of its kind in the country. It is open to students and alumni from the University of Guelph, Wilfrid Laurier University, University of Waterloo and Conestoga College.

Open Mic Night with the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences Student Council

Come join the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the Brass Taps to let loose of your vocal chords. You will be able to sign in at the event. Unleash the inner Beyonce in you! The night will be opened with local band and there will be shareable provided at the event. Come and make friends that you can sing along with and also interact with the student council and other club members to seek your interest! Cant wait to see you!

College of Engineering and Physical Sciences Mini Carnival and Clubs Showcase

Welcome to the first ever mini carnival hosted by CEPSSC and clubs. You will have the pleasure of participating in carnival games like wooden Tic Tac Toe, ring toss, golf challenge, can smash, cotton candy and more! Join us to connect with engineering and physical sciences clubs and find your interest in club activities. Get a chance to win some student organisation merchandise if you can beat us in a game! Meet the School of Computer Science

Do you wonder what it means to be part of the School of Computing? Come out and talk to professors and upper year students to learn tips and tricks for making the most of your first year. We will also be showcasing projects from students and professors to give young students an idea of what they can accomplish with Computing at Guelph. This event is run by the Guelph Women in Computer Science club and the Society of Computing and Information Science. All are welcome. Free snacks will also be provided!

Nerdy Trivia with the Society of Computing and Information Sciences and Guelph Women in Computer Science

Join the Society of Computing and Information Sciences (SOCIS) and Guelph Women in Computer Science (GWICS) in our annual nerdy trivia event. Compete with your friends and other students in categories such as UoG, Marvel/DC, Harry Potter, and much more! Have fun, meet new people and put your knowledge to the test. Individuals and groups are both welcome. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams.
