Expect an increase in your grocery bills, according to Canada’s Food Price Report 2019

The ninth annual Canada’s Food Price Report was released today, indicating that the average Canadian family can expect to spend $411 more on food in 2019 thanks to more expensive fruit and vegetables.

The annual report is a joint project between researchers from Dalhousie University and from the College of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph. The expected increase in food spending in 2019 is mostly due to an anticipated price hike of as much as six per cent for produce.

First-year business students learn how to manage ethical dilemmas with live case competition

On Friday, more than 850 first-year U of G Bachelor of Commerce students learned first-hand how to manage an ethical dilemma, as part of a live case competition for their Introduction to Business class.

As the final phase of the intro class, the Great Ethical Dilemma case competition is a unique learning initiative that teaches first-year business students how to act ethically in the face of a real-time ethical dilemma.

Voters across Ontario went to the polls on October 22 to cast their ballots in municipal elections, with many ballots featuring the names of University of Guelph business alumni.

U of G business student among winning team at Queen’s finance conference

Two University of Guelph business students from the Guelph Student Investment Council (GSIC) were invited to attend the Queen's Finance Association Conference (QFAC) in Toronto at the Omni King Edward Hotel.

BComm students Haley DeBruyne and Luka Vulicevic represented the University of Guelph at the conference, which has become a well-recognized undergraduate conference in the finance industry with sponsors including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and other New York IB firms.
