A team of three University of Guelph students travelled to Buenos Aires, Argentina last week to compete in the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) Student Case Competition.

The case competition had teams competing in one of three streams: Undergraduate, Intermediate, and Advanced. After a grueling case analysis and presentation, the team moved on to the final round of the case competition and placed first overall in the undergraduate stream.

U of G business students will see some new faces around campus this fall. The College of Business and Economics is excited to welcome seven new faculty members to various academic units within the college.

The College of Business and Economics is proud to announce the winners of the inaugural 2018 CBE Research Awards, which recognize outstanding research achievements or research potential of CBE faculty.

There are three types of research awards, which include: Senior Research Fellowship, Research Fellowship and Research Impact Awards.

Through a $40,000 gift to the University of Guelph, Cambrian Solutions Inc. will continue to support scholarships at the College of Business and Economics as well as the Ontario Agricultural College. The Gift supports two awards of $4,000 each year: the Cambrian Solutions Inc. Business Scholarship and the Cambrian Solutions Inc. Food Science Scholarship.

In addition to celebrating the graduation of our business students this week, the College of Business and Economics had the opportunity to present this year’s Recognition Awards, which recognize the significant academic, extra-curricular and teaching achievements of business students.

Ruben Burga in recognition of receiving the College nomination for the D.F. Forster Medal – Doctoral

For outstanding academic achievement, involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership and citizenship

A University of Guelph business student was recognized at the 2018 Applied Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) conference for her paper on sustainability reporting.

A new business consulting course at the University of Guelph that entailed eight students visiting the isolated community of Campobello Island, New Brunswick with the goal of helping them develop a plan for a sustainable future was featured in the Globe and Mail June 7.

3rd annual Luminary Leader Speaker Series hosted by the College of Business and Economics Executive Programs

Convocation is a special time during the academic year, where graduands and their guests often have the privilege of being addressed by a notable business leader, someone who the University of Guelph is conferring with an honorary doctorate in recognition of their achievements.

During the summer convocation on June 12th, the college is excited to be conferring two incredible entrepreneurial leaders with an honorary doctorate.
