Welcome New Graduate students to the Masters in Rural Planning and Development Program.

Orientation to the MSc - Capacity Development and Extension program is scheduled for Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 10:00 - noon via videoconference.  Details are shared via your UofG email.

The Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) degree program meeting for new students will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 10:30 am via Zoom.  See videoconference link on the Gryph Life website under “Meeting for Majors”

Ourlaine Pashley, a Master of Science in Rural Planning and Development student, will defend their thesis research titled “The Becoming of an Ontario Shared Rural Vision: A New Narrative from Rural Ontarians”. A brief description of the research is listed below: 

Yanjun Liang, a Master of Science in Rural Planning and Development student, will defend their thesis research titled “Adapting the Impoverishment Risks and Reconstruction Model to Climate-Induced Planned Relocation in Coastal Communities: A Case Study in Seine Bight, Belize”. A brief description of their thesis research is listed below:  

Sampoorna Bhattacharya, a Master of Science in Rural Planning and Development student, will defend their thesis research titled “Heritage-led Planning for Rural Community Resilience: Terrace Landscapes in Peru”. A brief description of their thesis research is listed below: 

Alberic Marginet, a Master of Science in Rural Planning and Development student, will defend their thesis research titled “Urban is the New Rural: Performance Measurements for Urban Agriculture”. A brief description of their thesis research is listed below: 

Donna Sheppard, a doctoral candidate in Rural Studies - School of Environmental Design and Rural Development will defend her thesis on “ Improving community-based natural resource management practice in West Africa:  Mapping changing spiritual values within belief-based conservation networks in Ghana and Liberia”.

School of Environmental Design and Rural Development - Landscape Architecture MLA Master's Thesis Examination Dominique Madill, a master of landscape architecture candidate in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, will defend her thesis on "Plant and Wind Relationships of Motion".
