LA Workshop: Mansoor Ma - "Designing in 3D"

to
Mansoor Ma, workshop author and instructor, will continue with his Design Workshop series for the Winter semester. Designing in 3D – Using Advanced SketchUp Techniques More details on the workshop to be announced shortly. This 5-day workshop will help participants incorporate 3D modeling into the design process, adjusting the long held tradition that 3D modeling is to be used towards the end of a project for producing beautiful rendering only. Two core objectives of this workshop:

Rural Immigration Discussion Group

Are you interested in immigration and how it impacts rural communities and regions? Interested to learning more about the theories, practices, and policies of rural immigration? If so, plan to join us on January 23rd from 12:00 – 1:00 pm in Room 140 of the Landscape Architecture Building or connect via Zoom. This gathering will be an opportunity for graduate students and faculty to network with professionals within and outside the school, to share and collaborate on various topic related to immigration.

Guest Lecture: "Music as a Discourse of Social Justice: A Case Study from Nicaragua’s Indigenous People”

The first SEDRD Speaker Series for the winter semester is scheduled for Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm in The LA Pit. Mery Perez (PhD Student in Rural Studies) will be sharing findings from her research titled “Music as a Discourse of Social Justice: A Case Study from Nicaragua’s Indigenous People”. All welcome to attend.

MLA Thesis Defence - Brianna Collis

Landscape Architecture – MLA Master’s Examination Brianna Collis, a master of landscape architecture candidate in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, will defend her thesis on "How alternative landscapes in the boreal forest impact woodland caribou using a model of animal movement, perception and memory".    Robert Corry, Advisor John Fryxell, Adivsory Committee Member Karen Landman, Examination Committee Member Sean Kelly, Chair of Examination Committee All welcome to attend.
