We are pleased to invite you to the 28th Annual Master of Landscape Architecture Conference, University of Guelph. Join us for the Masters of Landscape Architecture Conference on Tuesday, March 26th, 2019 at the Eccles Centre. It is a day of landscape architecture thesis presentations that provide an insight into contemporary research by final semester graduate students. Every year the MLA students organize a conference to communicate the third year MLA thesis research to the public.  Refreshments available at 12:45 pm. Free Admission - all welcome to attend.

A Special Forum on Landscape Materials and Techniques.  A series of short presentations followed by a panel discussion and Q&A brought to you by LARC*2420 - Materials and Techniques class with Assistant Professor Brendan Stewart.  Light refreshments will be provided. The Rural Policy Learning Commons is hosting a free webinar titled, "What’s the Evidence on Evidence-Based Policy? Reflections on Knowledge Mobilization in Provincial Rural Policy". The webinar will feature Ashleigh Weeden (PhD Candidate in Rural Studies, SEDRD) and Josh Barrett (Government of Newfoundland and Labrador). A brief description of the webinar is listed below: 

The Rural Symposium is an opportunity for University of Guelph graduate students to showcase their rural research to policy makers, policy analysts, and program staff from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). The event facilitates knowledge mobilization and network building between graduate students at the University of Guelph, researchers, and OMAFRA . The 2019 Rural Symposium will take place on March 13, 2019 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Conference Centre at 1 Stone Road in Guelph.

Ever wondered how to design a poster for a conference presentation or what is the most effective way to share research findings through posters? On February 27 a poster design capacity building session will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 pm in the LA Pit with Shannon Brown. The session will identify best practices for designing posters, how to effectively share findings, and discuss what types of information to be displayed. The session is being organized in preparation for the upcoming 2019 Rural Symposium, however, anyone interested in poster design is welcome to attend the session.
