School of Environmental Design and Rural Development - Rural Planning and Development Guest Lecture Series presents: Dr. Jill Bucklaschuk, Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Guelph "Working Between Farm and the Table:  Examining Labour Practice of Manitoba's Hog Processing Industry" Join Dr. Jill Bucklaschuk as she shares recent research findings on the hog industry in rural Manitoba. This is the first presentation of the Rural Planning and Development Guest Lecture Series.  All are welcome to attend.  Bring your own lunch.

CSLA Congress 2017 and World Design Summit, Montreal

The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects Congress 2017 will be in conjunction with the WORLD DESIGN SUMMIT, in Montreal, Quebec from October 16-20, 2017. The CSLA and LACF are joining forces to encourage landscape architecture students to attend.  A total twelve travel bursaries and eight registration tickets are offered to students via the CSLA + LACF Student Bursary Program.  Deadline for student application for these funds is June 15, 2017.

Book Presentation: "Eat Local, Taste Global"

Authors and Adjunct Professors, Dr. Glen C. Filson and Dr. Bamidele Adekunle from the University of Guelph, School of Environmental Design and Rural Development to be presenting their new book "Eat Local, Taste Global: How Ethnocultural Food Reaches Our Tables"  at the University of Guelph on October 12th.  Details about the book can be found at Wilfrid Laurier University Press.  All welcome to join.

OALA Meet and Greet with Landscape Architecture Students

All students in landscape architecture are invited (and strongly encouraged) to attend the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects meet and greet presentation on Thursday, October 5, 2017. This is a fabulous opportunity to meet with some of the amazing members of the OALA who will discuss Ontario's regulating body for Landscape Architects, and answer questions concerning OALA purpose, role and membership.  (Please note, you cannot be a Landscape Architect in the Province of Ontario without being a Full Member of the OALA!)

You’re Invited to OAC Careers and Cocktails Each fall the OAC AA and the Student Federation of OAC host an informal evening of networking between alumni and current students. Come share your career story and help prepare OAC students to enter the workforce.
