OALA 2014 Curling Bonspiel

2014 Ontario Association of Landscape Architects Curling Bonspiel It is going to be a great night to dress up in your best halloween costumes, show off your awesome curling skills... (or if you're like me not so awesome skills) and hangout with all the cool people in BLA, MLA, OALA members and the Faculty. There will be prizes for the winning team and best costume. After our hard work on the ice we will celebrate with dinner and drinks!

PhD Rural Studies Graphics Lecture by Nathan Perkins

School of Environmental Design and Rural Development - Rural Studies Speaker Series: "Graphics & Information" - A grabbag of thoughts and techniques on the use of visual information in communication by Nathan Perkins Nate Perkins is a Professor in the Landscape Architecture program at the UofG. He has a longstanding interest in the visual display of data and will discuss the ins and outs of using graphics in a variety of presentation modes. CIP - Exchange Student Meeting for Landscape Architecture Students

EXCHANGE Information Session for Landscape Architecture Students Required for 2nd Year BLA students applying for exchange in S15 / F15 / W16 Wednesday, October 22nd @ 11:30 am Room 125 Landscape Architecture A representative from the Centre for International Programs (CIP) will be giving one of CIP’s mandatory sessions required of all students thinking of going on exchange.  Melinda Vanryn, BLA Counsellor will also be available to answer questions. This session will be tailored specifically to BLA students.

PhD Rural Studies Lecture: Sarah Elton

School of Environmental Design and Rural Development - Rural Studies Speaker Series Presentation by: Sarah Elton "Consumed: Food for a Finite Planet" Sarah Elton is a best selling author, journalist, CBC Radio food columnist and an adjunct professor at the University of Guelph. Her books Consumed and Locavore tell the stories of how people here in Canada and around the world are building resilient food systems for the future.

LASS Octoberfest - Road Hockey Tournament & Pumpkin Carving

The Landscape Architecture Student Society will be hosting an October Fest next Wednesday, October 15th, from 2:00-4:00 pm.  It's about time we get together and enjoy the weather before it gets too cold! As part of the festivities we will be hosting our first road hockey tournament of the year.  Teams will consist of a total of 4 people: 1 goalie and at least 1 female. Games will happen on the road right in front of the L.A. building.
