United Way and UoG Gryphons Kick Off Football and Campaign Season With a Home Opener Win!

What better way to start the University of Guelph’s United Way Campaign than with the Gryphons’ Home Opener Game! This past weekend, we were able to share and celebrate some #LocalLove by cheering on the football Gryphons while supporting United Way. $1 from every ticket sold to the game went toward United Way, as did proceeds from the 50/50 draw and general donations on-site. Huge shoutout to our Gryphons who won with a final score of 38-25 as well! 

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and participated in the event, making it a huge success. Special thanks go out to our mighty team of volunteers who made sure everything ran smoothly, and our dedicated campaign co-chair, John Walsh, who raised everyone’s spirits.  

Together, we raised over $1,200 from the 50/50 draw and donations. These contributions will go a long way in supporting our community and ensuring that Better is Possible for everyone. 

United Way GWD would like to thank the UofG Gryphons and the Department of Athletics for allowing us to be part of their special Home Opener Game. Your partnership and support meant everything to usus, and we look forward to a successful season ahead. This is only the beginning – for both the sports season and our United Way Campaign, so stay tuned for more exciting events and collaborations.
