United Way Campaign Kickoff at the University of Guelph
On September 25th, we held our 2024 University of Guelph United Way Campaign Kickoff at Branion Plaza. Gryph made a special appearance alongside the United Way’s very own Everyday Superhero. The event was a huge success as many staff, students, and community members all came together to learn more about how they could engage with and contribute to the United Way during this year’s campaign.
A big thank you to Maple Lodge for their generous donation of their delicious hot dogs which were a huge hit! United Way also thanks Hospitality Services for providing their classic apple crisps, popcorn, and cotton candy. 100% of the hot dog sales and a portion of other food sales helped kick-off the University of Guelph’s United Way campaign strong and raised $1,446 total and around 500 hotdogs sold!
We were honored to have Dr. Van Acker, the Acting President & Vice-Chancellor, speak positively on United Way’s impact and mission. Our co-chair John Walsh, along with United Way’s Executive Director Glenna Banda, also spoke about the importance of making life better for those in our community and getting involved. All of this would not have been possible without the time and effort devoted by our other co-chair, Claire Alexander and the entire Steering Committee!
United Way is so grateful for everyone who attended and supported the event. The fun has only just begun! Don’t miss out on all the exciting events happening this season, and don’t forget to make your pledge! Reminder that the campaign 50/50 is also now open until November 30th. There are so many ways to get involved this year, so don't miss out! Remember that every dollar counts. Each contribution and action will make a difference and fuel community change. Let’s help each other live better lives. Because what’s better for you is better for everyone.
