Jessie Kennedy
Manager
Jessie joined the Wood Centre Team in 2021 and has experience in public speaking, marketing, branding, and relationship building. As an alumna of the University of Guelph, she brings a deep understanding of the institution and its values to her work. With her keen insights and exceptional communication skills, Jessie is a valuable asset to our team. Previously, she spent 4 years working in the Admission and Recruitment office and travelled across Canada and presented to high school students about living and learning at the U of G.
Jessie designs and maintains the Wood Centre's website and meets with external stakeholders to foster partnerships and collaborations that benefit the Centre's initiatives. Jessie also oversees programming, ensuring that all events and activities align with the Centre's mission and goals.

Erin Young
Business Incubator Services Manager
Managing the Hub Incubator at the Wood Centre, Erin creates and instructs programming to help student entrepreneurs with business ideas learn how to commercialize their product or service and make it a viable business venture. Erin began her entrepreneurial endeavours in her initial career as co-president of a media production company. Among award-winning programs, her documentary ‘Hardwood’ was nominated for an Academy Award and Emmy. Erin has also instructed at College programs, managed small to large teams, and also has a Masters in Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology from University of Waterloo which fueled her passion for working in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Alex Mitro
Program Coordinator
Alex Mitro is the Program Coordinator at the John F. Wood Centre for Student and Business Enterprise. He is responsible for running entrepreneurship-themed workshops and programming for students across campus. He also manages the MakerSpace, a collaborative space for students to access tools and equipment that will help with their innovation development. Previously, Alex worked in the beer industry as a Project Manager innovating processes and growing the business, and he holds a master's degree in biotechnology from the University of Guelph.
