Dr. Tina Widowski to be inducted into Ontario Agriculture Hall of Fame

She is one of six leaders who have positively influenced Ontario agriculture and who will be inducted into the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame (OAHF) this June.

Widowski, professor in the Ontario Agricultural College's Department of Animal Biosciences at U of G, is one of the world’s foremost experts in the housing and management of farm animals and has been described as a pioneer in poultry behaviour and welfare research in Canada and globally. She is also appointed the Research Chair in Poultry Welfare by the Egg Farmers of Canada.

Her 40-year research career balances the need for healthy farm animals with best practices that support economically sustainable farms.
