South Western Feminism and Philosophy Workshop and dinner, Nov. 16. Faculty and students invited!
You are invited to attend the South Western Feminism and Philosophy Workshop and dinner happening at the University of Guelph on November 16th at 4 pm (McKinnon Rm. 132).
This event will welcome two philosophers to present their work in progress. Our speakers are Dr. Sujaya Dhanvantari, Assistant Professor at the University of Guelph (presenting "The Colonial Duration of Gender Violence"), and Hale Doguoglu, Ph.D. student at Western University (presenting “Distrust, Power, and (In)vulnerability”).
Dr. Gus Skorburg wins University Research Award!
Congratulations to Gus Skorburg on winning a University Research Excellence Award. This award recognizes research achievements of recently tenured faculty members at the University of Guelph, with a particular emphasis on the international impact of a faculty member's research. This is a great achievement and deserved recognition of the quality and reach of Dr. Skorburg's research!

One of our majors, Zakary Osman has been accepted to the CPA Summer Institute: A one-week program for philosophy undergraduates from across Canada, the Summer Institute will give students from underrepresented groups an intensive immersion in academic philosophy (https://www.acpcpa.ca/articles/cpa-summer-institute-toronto-may-29-june-4).

Professor Maya Goldenberg SSHRC Connections Grant: “The Politics of Health: A KMb Podcast Series”
Professor Maya Goldenberg (Philosophy and BAS) received an SSHRC Connections Grant called “The Politics of Health: A KMb Podcast Series.” The grant offers to fund a series of podcasts on medical controversies and the politics of health by the “Darts and Letters” podcast production team.
Two episodes have been released so far:

Maya Goldenberg wins the PSA Prize in Feminist Philosophy of Science!
Congratulations to Maya Goldenberg, who has just been awarded the Philosophy of Science Association (PSA) Prize in Feminist Philosophy of Science for her 2021 book Vaccine Hesitancy: Trust, Expertise, and the War on Science.
This prize is awarded biennially for the best book, article, or chapter published in English in the area of feminist philosophy of science. The winner receives an award of $500, which is presented at the PSA meeting.
