Summer Workshops
DH@Guelph 2025 Summer Workshops
Every May for the past decade, the digital humanities (DH) community at the University of Guelph has hosted a series of workshops on a variety of topics related to DH theory and method. This four-day event sees people from all over the continent come to Guelph to take an intensive workshop on a topic of their choice. The week also features a keynote address, a series of 'dine-around' dinners where participants are encouraged to make new friends at a great local restaurant, and a wrap-up showcase on the final day, where everyone learns what the other workshops have been learning. Truly a community effort, we have had instructors and keynotes from as far as Australia and England join us, and each year we hold an open call for workshops (see example below, the next call will be out in November).
If you have questions or concerns about the workshops, please email Kim or Susan at dhguelph@uoguelph.ca.

Call for Workshop Proposals
We are seeking 4-day workshops on any aspect of digital humanities. Proposals will be selected by the local organizing committee with a view to maintaining the workshops’ emphasis on diversity in the digital humanities, meeting demand for particular topics, and instructor experience and qualifications.
The DH@Guelph Summer Workshops will run over four days, May 13th-16th, 2025. DHatGuelph covers the cost of travel, residence accommodation, and a modest honorarium for visiting instructors. Note that our budget is limited with a view to keeping participant costs reasonable, so if your expenses will be significant we are unlikely to be able to accept the proposal.
To propose a course, please fill in this form.
Applications are due January 6th, 2025. We plan to offer a maximum of 10 courses, so adhering to the deadline is necessary for consideration. You will be notified of results by February 1st, 2025.
If you'd like to see what courses were offered in the past, please take a look at the 2024 DH@Guelph Summer Workshops. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with ideas for potential workshops at dhguelph@uoguelph.ca in advance of the deadline, if you are curious about what might work!
We look forward to hearing from you!
