Dr. Loydie Jerome-Majewska, professor in the Department of Pediatrics and associated member of the departments of Human Genetics and Anatomy and Cell Biology at McGill University, will present “Resilience in Life and Embryonic Development: Costs and Benefits to Survival” as part of the CBS Community Seminar Series. The event will be held on March 9 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Waasamowin atrium and online via Teams. The event is free and open to everyone. No registration required.

The Intro to CBS Research Night is a two-part event designed to introduce CBS undergraduate students to research opportunities across the College of Biological Science.  Part 1 features a drop-in poster session showcasing undergraduate research projects from Molecular and Cellular Biology, Integrative Biology, and Human Health Sciences, including summer research, course-based projects, internships, and other research opportunities. 

CBS and the U of G’s Indigenous Student Society welcome you to hear from three Indigenous guest speakers from across Turtle Island as they discuss their work in CBS-related disciplines. Priority will be given to undergraduate students in the College of Biological Science or Indigenous students in any discipline. Priority will also be given to those who are able to stay for the entire event. Register through this form. Free lunch is included with registration.  Speakers:

On Feb 27th from 12 to 1 p.m., HHS will be hosting a seminar by Dr. Chris Pignanelli from the Canadian Sport Institute.

Dr. Eliana Gonzales-Vigil, associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Toronto-Scarborough, will present "Two stories on the importance of using natural genetic diversity for the study of plant specialized metabolism."

As part of the One Health Seminar Series, Dr. Brian Husband will present "U of G’s Bachelor of One Health (BOH): The Challenges and Benefits of Offering Interdisciplinary Programs." The event will be held in-person in OVC ECLA 1725, as well as online.
