Extracting Insights from Images
My research is focused on the design of algorithms that extract quantitative biomarkers from pathology and radiology images for breast cancer (2011-pres) and neurodegenerative diseases (2006-pres). We are investigating imaging-based precusors that shed light into disease causation and progression, and can be used to predict a patient's prognosis.

- Medical image analysis techniques for radiology (grayscale) and pathology (colour) images
- Lesion segmentation in neurological MRI for Alzheimer's disease, stroke and multiple sclerosis
- Quantification of nuclear grades and biomarker expression levels in breast cancer pathology images
