Cody Burdett's Master of Science thesis defence took place on Friday, January 29th, 2010 at 11:00 in Room 319, J.D. MacLachlan Building. The title of his thesis is "The Use of Traceability to Combat the Economic Drivers of Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing: A Case Study."

Jacob Kerkhoff, M.Sc. student in the Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics department, spent two months at Wageningen University (the Netherlands) through the Erasmus Mundus International Exchange Program.

Jacob wrote a blog about his stay in Holland at http://observationcapsules.wordpress.com/.

The final oral examination for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy for Edward Olale took place on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in Rozanski Hall, Room 106.  The title of his presentation is:  "Income Diversification Among Fishing Communities in Western Kenya".

Sean Field's M.Sc. Thesis Defence and Final Examination was held Friday, September 18th, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in Room 101 of the J.D. MacLachlan Building.  The title of his thesis is "Examining the Determinants and Impact of Asian Vegetable Production: A Case Study on the Livelihoods of Ghanaian Smallholders".

Lingling Yu's M.Sc. Thesis Defence and Final Examination was held on Friday, September 18th, 2009 in Room 107, J.D. MacLachlan Building at 2:30 pm.  The title of her thesis is "Consumer Demand for Convenience Chicken Meat Products in Canada".

Dr. Alan Olmstead will be presenting this year's Farrell Lecture - Wednesday, September 16th, entitled "Learning to Integrate Science and Public Policy to Combat Livestock Diseases in the United States".  The Lecture will take place at the Lifetime Learning Centre, OVC, Room 1714.

Ryan McCullough's M.Sc. Thesis Defence and Final Examination was held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 107 in the J.D. MacLachlan Building.  The title of his thesis is "Assessing the Impact of the Melancthon Phase I Wind Project on Nearby Agricultural Property Values: A Hedonic Approach". 

 

Arden Esqueda's M.Sc. Thesis Defence and Final Examination was held on Friday, August 7th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 107 in the J.D. MacLachlan Building.  The title of her thesis is "Dairy Production in the Urban Fringe: An Analysis of Capital Investment Decisions on Southern Ontario Dairy Farms".

Monika Drozdz's M.Sc. Thesis Defence and Final Examination was held on Thursday, August 6th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 107 of the J.D. MacLachlan Building.  The title of her thesis is "Factors Contributing to the Exchange of Ecological Goods & Services:  Three Canadian Case Studies"
