Claire Alexander

My name is Claire Alexander and  I am Special Projects Manager in the President's Office at the University of Guelph.  I work collaboratively across campus to coordinate a wide variety of projects, including annual events and community initiatives.  The position requires strong leadership, excellent organisation, effective communication, tact, diplomacy and creativity, all skills that will support my sharing of knowledge as part of Leave for Change.   I am also an active volunteer in my community where I strive to make connections for the organisations I am working with which they are unable to make on their own.  Twenty years ago, as a recent university graduate I travelled to South Africa as an exchange student, stayed for 3 years and returned home married to a South African.  I am excited now to return to Southern Africa draw on my appreciation of African culture and team it with both my professional and volunteer experiences.  I want to share my skills, bring a fresh approach and innovative ideas to support the organisation that I will be working with.
