Katherine Jenkins
I work in marketing and communications with the University of Guelph’s College of Business and Economics. On May 21, I will leave for Kathmandu, Nepal to volunteer with the Himalayan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (HICAST).
I was instantly drawn to the Leave for Change program after stumbling upon it on the University of Guelph website. I was a contract employee at the time, but when my role became permanent last August, I knew it was an opportunity I wanted to pursue. Working in communications, I have been fortunate to be a part of many different projects and make connections with many different people. I hope that I can take the lessons I’ve learned throughout my career and make meaningful contributions to HICAST.
I would like to thank the University of Guelph and Uniterra for this amazing opportunity and L4C alumni for sharing their wisdom with me as I prepare for this experience of a lifetime.
I am hoping to chronicle my journey through Tumblr. Follow me at Kate in Kathmandu.
