Education At A Distance

Award-winning E-Learning programs are just one facet of our overall recognized excellence in alternative learning delivery modes. Guelph has aggressively pursued distance education and web-based technology as part of an overall dedication to supporting lifelong learning.

Learning technologies link U of G with students across Canada and around the world, including:

  • over 160 degree-credit course offerings over three semesters.
  • approximately 12,000 course enrolments in distance education degree studies in 2001/02 with the expectation that this number will grow to nearly 14,000 in 2002/03
  • approximately 30,000 registrations in non degree credit courses offered through continuing education and Open Learning programs.

Experiential Learning Opportunities

Guelph has a rich and dynamic suite of experiential learning programs, including semesters abroad, co-op placements, and undergraduate research assistantships. Guelph has the 3rd largest co-op program in the province as measured by student enrolments. The new programs to be offered at University of Guelph-Humber will enhance our strength in this area.
