  • 52 classrooms, and all of the campus residence rooms, are connected to U of G's high speed network.

The Library

The Library is a very busy facility with over 12,000 users on a busy fall or winter day. The Learning Commons, which provides in-person support services to students and faculty, has student learning as its focus and consolidates on the first floor of the Library a range of support services related to learning, writing, research, and information and computer literacy. Other public service desks in the Library provide specialized support for data and geographical information resources, veterinary science resources, and special and rare book collections.

Library Holdings

Through a wide range of print and electronic resources, the Library provides the University of Guelph community with state-of-the-art access to scholarly information. Local holdings include book collections of over 1.2 million volumes and 9,000 journal titles - over 8,300 of these journals are available electronically over the Internet from any location. The Library’s TRELLIS catalogue combines the collections of the libraries of U of G, the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, giving faculty, staff and students access to a total collection of 7.5 million volumes.

Guelph ranked above the national average in library holdings per FTE among comprehensive universities, according to the 2002 Maclean's survey.
