This award was established in memory of Ken Janovicek, BSc. (Agr) ‘88, MSc. ‘91, whose passion for applied crop agriculture was unparalleled, and whose unwavering collegial spirit and dedication to helping others left an indelible mark on those who knew him. Apply by April 1st using the OAC Undergraduate Convocation Award application form. Selection will be based on research potential as demonstrated by breadth of experience (e.g, research projects and related work experience), extracurricular involvement at the University of Guelph, in the student’s community, and academic achievement.

Students who are graduating in June or have graduated in the previous winter or fall convocations from any degree program offered by the Ontario Agricultural College, who have demonstrated a commitment to pursuing a career in cropping systems, crop nutrition, or agronomy through work experience and/or extracurricular involvement and intend to pursue thesis-based graduate studies in the Department of Plant Agriculture. Preference will be given to students who propose to undertake research on Cropping Systems with an emphasis on Crop Nutrient Management or Agronomy.
