Apply by letter as part of the application process for all OVC undergraduate awards in the winter including a letter (maximum 300 words) detailing how their volunteer experience with community-based organizations such as local shelters, and/or extracurricular activities focused on the human animal bond has transformed lives. Include one supporting reference letter from a direct supervisor or faculty member detailing the student’s volunteer or extracurricular experience and how they demonstrated exemplary focus on the human animal bond through patient and client care. Selection will be based on the greatest demonstrated commitment to, and impact on, the human animal bond, as evidenced by the quality of the application letter and supporting reference letter.
Students completing Phase 4 of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program who have demonstrated commitment to, and impact on, the human animal bond through their volunteer experience with community-based organizations and/or extracurricular activities.
