Amy Sweet started this award as part of the She’s Got Game Initiative. Amy is a varsity rugby alumna who wanted to support current varsity rugby players, particularly those interested in pursuing a legal career. Coaches will nominate students to the Athletics Awards Committee. Selection will be based on extraordinary athletic and leadership qualities.
Entering student-athletes who are members of the Gryphon Women’s Rugby team or current members of the Gryphon Women’s Rugby team who have achieved a minimum 70% average or equivalent in the previous academic year as a student-athlete. Preference will be given in the following order 1) Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis), and persons of colour/racialized student-athletes entering and registered in the Criminal Justice & Public Policy (CJPP) major and the Justice and Legal Studies major of the B.A. program 2) Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis), and persons of colour/racialized student-athletes entering and registered in any program 3) student-athletes entering and registered in the Criminal Justice & Public Policy (CJPP) major and the Justice and Legal Studies major of the B.A. program.
