Established by family in memory of the late Dwayne Spears, this scholarship honours Dwayne and his lifelong relationship with Guelph. This scholarship supports one student-athlete from the Men’s Soccer or Men’s Hockey teams, sports that Dwayne was both passionate about, and excelled at in his youth. Coaches will nominate students to the Athletics Award Committee. Selection will be based on extraordinary athletic and leadership qualities.
Entering student-athletes who are members of the Gryphon Men's Soccer team or the Gryphon Men's Hockey team or current members of the Gryphon Men's Soccer team or Gryphon Men's Hockey team who have achieved a minimum 70% average or equivalent during the previous academic year as a student-athlete.
