The Simmonds family created these awards in honour of their two sons Scott ‘19 and Jay ‘20 Gryphon Alumni who played for the men’s hockey and rugby teams. Coaches will nominate students to the Athletics Awards Committee. Selection will be based on extraordinary athletic and leadership qualities. One scholarship will be awarded to a member of the Gryphon Men’s Hockey team and one scholarship will be awarded to a member of the Gryphon Men’s Rugby team.
Entering student-athletes who are members of the Gryphon Men’s Hockey or Gryphon Men’s Rugby teams or current members of the Gryphon Men’s Hockey or Gryphon Men’s Rugby teams who have achieved a minimum 70% average or equivalent during the previous academic year as a student-athlete.
