This scholarship was established in 2019 in remembrance of a classic black Labrador Retriever who had a gentle soul and lived life with so much joy. Dalwood was a seven-time Best of Breed champion. When Dalwood passed away, his owners endeavoured to keep his memory alive through this scholarship. Apply with a letter of no more than 600-words and resume detailing experience with dog training, dog showing, or working with service dogs in the fall during the call for applications from the Dean's office. Selection will be based on the student who demonstrates the most experience with dog training, showing, or working with service dogs. Not tenable with other awards where financial need is not a factor. Can be held with all other need-based awards.
Students registered in Phase 4 of the DVM program in the Small Animal stream with a demonstrated interest in the special bond between people and dogs, as shown through experience with dog training or showing, or working with service dogs.
