Established in 2021 by P3 Veterinary Partners who are grounded on the foundations of Pets, People and Practice. With a growing network of hospitals coast to coast across Canada, P3 is committed to honouring and supporting the local communities they serve. This award will support DVM students who have a strong orientation to providing community-based care in Primary practice and understand the importance of teamwork in rural companion animal veterinary care. Apply during the Fall call for applications for awards to the office of the Associate Dean, Students and Academic, Ontario Veterinary College with a one-page statement summarizing their involvement in rural companion animal practice and how it developed their understanding of the importance of teamwork in rural companion animal veterinary practice. Additionally, submit a statement from a supervisor at the clinic where the experience was gained, verifying the student's work or volunteer position. Selection will be based on greatest demonstrated understanding of the importance of teamwork in rural companion animal veterinary practice, and how teamwork contributes to effective patient outcomes, well-being, practice efficiency, knowledge sharing and culture.
Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons registered in Phases 2-4 of the DVM program who have rural work and/or volunteer experience in companion animal practice.
