The Canadian Kennel Club established this award to support DVM students who have demonstrated interest in canine health by participating in canine health research during the DVM program. Apply during the fall call for applications from the OVC Dean’s office with a letter of no more than 300 words detailing participation in canine health research during the DVM program and how it has contributed to improving canine health, and, if applicable, include details of experience(s) with showing dogs in Canadian Kennel Club recognized shows/events. Selection will be based on the extent of the research the student has participated in related to improving canine health. In the case of equally qualified candidates, selection will be based on the highest weighted average in the DVM program.
Students registered in phases 2, 3, or 4 of the DVM program who have participated in canine health research, including, but not limited to Summer Research Studentships related to canine health. Preference will be given to students with experience showing dogs in Canadian Kennel Club recognized shows/events.
