This award has been created by the Parks family who has a strong family history with OVC including Dr. Vic Parks (OVC’64), Dr. Geraldine Parks Clements (OVC’88) and Dr. Victoria L. O’Leary (OVC’94). This travel grant was created to help and support students during an external elective. It is given to a student who has the greatest demonstration of involvement in, and knowledge about, food animals. Apply by letter as part of the application process for all OVC Travel Grants in the winter semester, including a description of involvement with food animals to date, the location of the external rotation and how it relates to their development in food animals, and a transcript. Students should also provide a letter of support from an individual who has supervised their work in this area. Where applications are of equal merit, academic performance will be used to decide the recipient.
Students registered in Phase 3 of the DVM program entering the Food Animal stream in Phase 4 and travelling outside the province of Ontario to an external rotation related to food animals.
