Established in recognition of Dr. Shaver’s impact on layer genetics and sustainable poultry production. Students must have completed an application for admission to an MSc or PhD graduate program, arrange to have 2 letters of reference submitted, and submit a one-page research proposal and a CV to the Office of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies at grschol@uoguelph.ca by February 1st. Students will be selected on the basis of outstanding previous academic performance (including transcripts, publication record and awards), letters of reference and research proposal and recipients are required to submit annual summary of their research.
Students entering any full-time graduate program (or registered in semester 1, 2, or 3 of their graduate program at the time of application who are conducting or proposing research in egg farming, such as, but not limited to: marketing initiatives aimed at growing the market for egg products; economic and business aspects of egg production and marketing, egg quality, safety and processing, environment; as well as layer production research related to improving nutrition, health and performance.
