Established to recognize the late Dr. John R.M. Kelso's personal and professional contributions to the Fisheries profession. Apply by August 15th by submitting the OAC Graduate Fall Award Application Form. Applicants will be asked to outline their participation in extracurricular activities related to environmental protection and fisheries stewardship and provide a copy of their research proposal. Selection will be based on relevance and appropriateness of the research work, and breadth of involvement in extracurricular activities related to environmental protection and fisheries stewardship, including but not limited to, membership in conservation, fisheries or environmental protection societies, involvement in research, educational, communication or other programs outside of university, dedicated to these goals. Academic standing may also be considered.
Full-time students conducting research that examines the effects of anthropogenic stressors on fish community ecology (including but not limited to toxic chemicals, habitat degradation, or hydro power), and who are involved in activities related to environmental protection and fisheries stewardship.
