The Friends of Gage Park (in Hamilton) established this scholarship in recognition of Lorrie Dunington-Grubb’s contributions to landscape architecture and her influence on the creation of many culturally significant landscapes. The intent of this scholarship is to bring attention to the importance of cultural landscapes and serve to attract diversity, talent, and leadership to this area of study. Apply by August 15 using the OAC Graduate Fall Award Application Form. Students will be asked to submit a written proposal within the application form. The proposals must identify some component of cultural landscapes exploration that makes landscape heritage more visible, identifying its value, and empowering its stewards (e.g., cultural landscape documentation and archival research, cultural landscape theory and practice, biographies of cultural landscapes, adaptive reuse of cultural landscapes, cultural landscape restoration). Selection will be based on the quality of the written proposal and academic achievement.
Full-time students registered in the Master of Landscape Architecture program who have completed semester 4, who propose to focus their capstone project or thesis research in the area of cultural landscapes.
