Established in memory of Elizabeth M. (Betty) Upton, a faculty member in the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management , who played a key role in the development of the School and was instrumental in the development of the Institutional Foodservice Management major. Selection will be equally based on academic achievement, demonstrated relevance of the travel to the student’s academic studies and cost of travel. Apply by May 15th to the HFTM Awards Committee including: a description of the travel, a description of the relevance of the travel to your program of study, and a budget including other expected sources of funding.
Full-time students who have completed a minimum of two semesters in a graduate program offered by the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management who will be participating in travel related opportunity through a University of Guelph recognized study abroad, exchange or letter of permission activity outside Canada, or to collect research data for their thesis or major paper; or to attend a relevant professional conference.
