The Fessenden-Trott scholarships were established in memory of the late Professor Reginald Aubrey Fessenden and the late Helen May Fessenden (née Trott). These scholarships are valued at $9,000 annually for three years (or until the scholar obtains their first degree).
Each year, these scholarships are offered to a different region of Canada. In 2021, nominations will be accepted from universities in the Ontario provinces. Each university in Ontario may nominate one student. The University of Guelph is accepting applications until May 19 and will select one student to nominate. Students do not submit their application or documentation to Scholarship Partners Canada; the University of Guelph will upload the chosen nominee.
Students must meet the following criteria to apply:
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Undergraduate students completing their first year of their first bachelor degree program
- High academic achievement
- Demonstrated leadership qualities as evidenced by volunteer/community involvement and/or extracurricular activities
Additional information is available in the Fessenden-Trott Program Guidelines. Applications are now closed for 2021. The next application period will open in March, 2025. Questions about U of G's application process should be directed to awards@uoguelph.ca.
