2020 International Comparative Rural Policy Summer Institute

The 17th International Comparative Rural Policy Studies Summer Institute will take place in Brandon, Manitoba from June 19 to July 2, 2020. The institute will convene for fourteen days and will involve approximately 25 graduate students and numerous faculty members from universities around North America and the European Union. Classroom sessions will be supplemented with field trips, group work and student presentations.

The 16th International Comparative Rural Policy Studies Summer Institute will take place in Rovaniemi, Finland, from June 16 to 29, 2019. The institute will convene for fourteen days and will involve approximately 25 graduate students and numerous faculty members from universities around the world. Classroom sessions will be supplemented with field trips, group work and student presentations. The Summer Institute provides a unique opportunity for students to meet and work together on comparative rural policy issues and make invaluable research and networking contacts.

Agricultural Advisory Committees: Case Studies and Lessons Learned Webinar

Join Dr. Sara Epp, a recent Rural Studies PhD graduate from SEDRD, for a webinar on the structure, mandate, membership and general experiences of Agricultural Advisory Committees. Findings from a recently released report by the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation and the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance will be highlighted.
