The Fall 2013 SEDRD Graduate Student Teaching Assistantship application deadline for Fall 2013 is August 1, 2013 by 4:00 pm.

The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) Congress, "Winds of Change" will be held July 11-14th, 2013 at the Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina, Saskatchewan.  This is the premier networking and educational event for the growing Canadian landscape architecture profession and provides a rare opportunity to engage with a cross-section of industry leaders. http://www.csla-aapc.ca/events/2013-congress-winds-of-change

The summer convocation ceremony for the Ontario Agricultural College will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 4:00 pm  in the Gryphon Fieldhouse.  

The School will be hosting a reception in the Landscape Architecture building foyer for SEDRD graduates and their guests before the convocation ceremony on Thursday, June 13, 2013.  Light refreshments will be available between 1:30 - 3:30 pm. We look forward to celebrating with our SEDRD graduates.

The PhD in Rural Studies thesis defense for Lynne Mitchell, will be held on Monday, June 10th, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in Rozanski Hall, Room 106.  The thesis title is “Career and Community Possible Selves:  How do Small-town Youth Envision their Futures”  All Welcome to Attend. The MLA final examination for Jordan Vander Klok will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 1:30 pm in Room 125 of the Landscape Architecture building.  The thesis is “Participatory Design and Public Space:  Catalysts for Community Development.  A Case Study in Barrio Grenad”.  Advisor:  Larry Harder; Advisory Committee Member:  Nathan Perkins; Chair of Exam:  Lise Burcher. All welcome to attend.  

The final examination for Lucie Švecová, will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in Room 127 of the Landscape Architecture building.  The thesis is entitled:  “Equine Trail Development in Wellington County”  Advisor:  Harry Cummings; Committee Member: John FitzSimons; Chair of Exam:  Wayne Caldwell. The final examination for Angela Saunders, will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 at 10:00 am in Room 143 of the Landscape Architecture building.  The thesis is “Small Island, Big Talk:  A Study of the Republic of The Marshall Islands’ Capacity to Respond to Social Change Issues”  Advisor:  Glen Filson; Committee Member:  Helen Hambly; Chair of Exam:  Al Lauzon All Welcome to Attend.  

The final examination for Mading Lok, will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:00 am in Room 143 of the Landscape Architecture building.  The thesis is “Agriculture and Land Tenure:  A Strategy for Rural Sustainable Livelihood in Lakes State, Southern Sudan”  Advisor:  Glen Filson; Committee Member: Bamidele Adekunle; Chair of Exam:  Helen Hambly All Welcome to Attend.
