Former HQP Scholar wins health food association award for innovative drink powder

Beck’s Broth is a bone broth-based drink in powder form, and it recently won at the Canadian Health Foods Association West Expo in April.

Former HQP Scholar Domenique Mastronardi and company CEO Beckie Prime were recently the recipients of the One to Watch award. 

As an MASc student in the School of Engineering, Mastronardi researched the production of protein-rich snacks using second-grade/culled peaches.

The Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) Scholarship Program was jointly funded by the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance and Food from Thought. HQP scholarships were awarded to forward-thinking future leaders in the agri-food and rural sectors.
