Research

Gordana Yovanovich has authored and edited five books as well as journal articles and chapters in books.  Her research focuses on literature from literary, social, and political perspectives.  It comments on contemporary issues and links works from earlier periods to current matters. She has published on topics such as re-imagining of communities, recent construction of Latin American identities, formation of new world order and effects of globalization, the use of play and humour as a way of survival, and the use of characters as tools of communication in longer fiction.  Yovanovich also works in Canadian visual arts and development of magical realism.
