Aitana Guia is a sessional assistant professor of modern European history at York University. Dr. Guia specializes on nationalism, minorities, and immigration in modern Europe. Her second monograph, The Muslim Struggle for Civil Rights in Spain: Promoting Democracy through Migrant Engagement, 1975-2010 has just been published by Sussex Academic Press.
