Ana Maria Rajcan is a Masters student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in European Studies. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph. Her thesis focused on post-Holocaust second-generation German and Jewish literature while her independent history project examined the role of nationalism in the collapse of the Habsburg Empire. As a refugee of the Bosnian genocide, Ana Maria is interested in a critical study of the processes of state-making and deeply invested in peace advocacy through intercultural understanding.
