Canadian Society for Chemistry Student Accreditation

Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC)

The Canadian Society for Chemistry is a community of Canadian-based chemists with a vision of "advancing the chemical sciences for the benefit of all." The CSC is organized by the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC). They host in-person and virtual conferences annually, certify chemical technologists, and accredits university programs among other things.

Accredited Programs

The University of Guelph offers the following programs with CSC accreditation:

  • B.Sc. CHEM
  • B.Sc. CHEM-C
  • B.Sc. BPCH
  • B.Sc. BPCH-C

CSC Young Professional Membership

All students graduating* from an accredited program are eligible for a complimentary CSC Young Professional Membership. This membership provides many benefits including discounted rates for conferences, premium insurance rates, as well as access to student-specific events, mentorship opportunities and more.

*Students who graduate from one of the listed programs in 2020 or later can access the membership
