Graduate Studies in Chemistry

Welcome to Graduate Studies in the Department of Chemistry!

The University of Guelph is a partner in the Guelph-Waterloo Centre (GWC²) for Graduate Work in Chemistry and Biochemistry. This collaboration allows chemistry graduate students enrolled at the University of Guelph to attend graduate courses at both the University of Guelph and the University of Waterloo. Enjoy the personal experience of the University of Guelph while selecting from the expanded pool of graduate courses from both Universities.

Program & Collaborative Specialization

Chemistry (M.Sc. or Ph.D.)

GWC² offers programs leading to the MSc and PhD degrees. The MSc and PhD degrees can be pursued through a part-time, regular or co-operative thesis option. Exceptional students may apply to a PhD Thesis degree directly from a BSc or by directly transferring from the MSc program. For requirements, see the Chemistry Course Calendar.

Toxicology (M.Sc. or Ph.D.)

Toxicology is a collaborative specialization. A collaborative specialization is an intra-university graduate field of study that provides an additional multidisciplinary experience for students enrolled in and completing the degree requirements for one of a number of approved Master's or Doctoral programs. For requirements, see the Toxicology Course Calendar.
